Why we don’t charge fees

Travel should feel like hope.

Not pressure. Not confusion. Not a checklist. Hope.

The reason behind it

Travel can feel heavy before it ever begins.

Especially for travelers with disabilities and families planning around real needs, the questions start early. Will the room work? Will the transportation fit? Will the staff understand?

I know that feeling, and I built PATH to remove as much of that weight as possible.

Will this room actually work?
Will the transportation fit?
Will the staff understand?
Will this trip feel joyful?

My name is Matthew Alexander, and I’m the founder of Professional Accessible Travel Hub (PATH). I’m autistic myself, and I know what it feels like to move through a world that doesn’t always make space for your needs.

Long before I built PATH, I supported individuals with disabilities in group homes and watched them travel multiple times a year. I saw the excitement on their faces, the confidence it gave them, and the way travel opened up joy, independence, freedom, and possibility.

That experience changed me. It made me realize something simple but powerful: travel is human. We are human, and anyone can travel.

That belief is at the heart of PATH.

Why I built PATH

I didn’t build PATH because travel needed another booking site.

I built it because too many people were being told a place was ‘accessible’ when it wasn’t really usable.

I built it because too many families and solo travelers were planning with hope instead of certainty.

I built it because too many people with mobility, sensory, or cognitive needs were expected to become experts before they were allowed to relax.

That never sat right with me.

Travel should not ask disabled people to do all the work.

It should meet them with clarity, care, and respect.

What I saw in the travel industry

Over time, I kept seeing the same pattern.

A company would advertise convenience, but not understanding.

A property would say it was accessible, but no one had checked whether it actually worked in real life.

A booking would go through smoothly, but the traveler would be left carrying the stress, the follow-up, and the disappointment when something didn’t fit.

And that’s the part people don’t always talk about — the emotional toll.

It’s not just about whether a room has a ramp or a car has enough space.

It’s about what it feels like to arrive somewhere and wonder whether you were truly considered.

It’s about feeling overlooked when all you wanted was a break.

I knew I wanted to build something different.

How my team and I do things differently

My team and I are not a volume business.

We’re a care business.

We personally inspect and vet the hotels, transportation, and experiences we recommend because trust is earned in the details.

We look beyond the word ‘accessible’ and ask whether something is truly usable in real life.

That means we pay attention to:

  • door widths and bathroom layouts
  • the feel of the environment
  • mobility access and equipment needs
  • transportation reliability
  • sensory comfort
  • staff awareness and responsiveness

And we do that work with a team beside us — people who help us carry out the research, coordination, and follow-through that make PATH work at a high level.

Because when someone places their trust in us, I want them to feel it all the way through the trip — not just at the time of booking.

Why I don’t charge service fees

I also know travel can be expensive for many families.

And I believe deeply that everyone deserves a break.

A vacation should not feel like a luxury only a few people can afford to plan well.

I want to make travel as accessible and affordable as possible, which is one of the reasons I don’t charge service fees.

I don’t want cost to become another barrier between people and the trip they’ve been dreaming about.

I want my clients to feel supported, not squeezed.

I want them to feel cared for, not charged extra just to be understood.

I want them to know that my team and I are here to help them travel with confidence, without making the process more expensive than it needs to be.

Why people come to us

People come to us when they are tired of being overlooked.

They come to us when they want someone who will listen.

They come to us when they need more than a reservation.

They come to us when they want someone who understands that a trip is not ‘just a trip’ when access, comfort, and dignity are part of every decision.

We’re here for the travelers who have spent too long doing it all themselves.

What PATH stands for

PATH is about more than travel.

It is about relief.

It is about confidence.

It is about giving people the chance to say yes to travel without carrying fear the whole way through.

My team and I want every traveler we work with to feel:

  • understood
  • respected
  • supported
  • prepared
  • hopeful

Because that is what good travel should feel like.

My promise

I’m not trying to be the biggest travel company.

My team and I are trying to be the one people trust.

PATH exists so travelers do not have to become logistics experts just to enjoy a vacation.

We do the checking, the verifying, the advocating, and the following up so our clients can focus on the part that matters most: the joy of going.

If you want travel handled with heart, honesty, and real accountability, that is what PATH is here to provide.
